Description:
Get the best of both worlds! These high-attention classes are designed specifically for midlife humans choosing to Row North (not drift). We combine progressive strength training to build muscle and boost bone strength with yoga to enhance mobility, balance, posture and mindfulness.

🛡️ Tailored for You: Small group setting with individualized, expert instruction in safe body mechanics.

💪 Progressive & Safe: Builds functional strength safely, gradually increasing the dumbbell load as your strength, form and confidence progress. All classes follow osteoporosis guidelines, for safe movements. See resources page for more information.

🧘 Combat Midlife Changes: Combat weight gain, insulin resistance, boost resting metabolic rate, support all bodily systems by becoming physically stronger.

🧠 Mindful Results: Improve focus, manage stress, and reduce risk of cognitive decline.

No experience necessary. Just show up as you are.

PRECAUTIONS - These group classes are NOT for you if:

  • You are currently recovering from an osteoporosis fracture or other injury

  • You require a cane or walker for daily walking

  • You have significant balance limitations or a history of multiple falls

  • You have uncontrolled medical conditions (severe cardiac issues, uncontrolled blood pressure, fainting, vertigo, severe shortness of breath, etc.)

  • You have been advised by your healthcare provider not to lift weights or you have cardiac precautions

  • 👉 You cannot get up and down from the floor (relatively) easily

    If yes, to any of the above precautions it is recommended you:
    > Start by working one-on-one with a qualified physical therapist, occupational therapist or personal trainer specialized in the area(s) that are limiting you.
    > If you cannot get up/down from the floor easily, both the Kittery Community Center and York Parks and Rec Dept. offer classes where chairs are used.

Instructor: Rae Lynn Stackpoole MOT, C-PT, C-IAYT These classes are my passionate blending of decades of accumulated knowledge and experience as an occupational therapist, movement educator, a yoga therapist, certified personal trainer, a Bone Fit™ exercise specialist, and Menopause Health & Fitness Specialist.

PRICING
$ 20 / class when taking class now-and-then
$15 / per class when attending weekly
~ Pre-registration is required.
~ Sign-up closes 1 hour before class start time.

PLEASE ARRIVE 5-10 minutes before class time in order to gather equipment so we can start on time. Bring a yoga mat.

WAITLIST:
* Maximum of 14 students.
* Pre-registration required.
~ If the class is full put yourself on the waitlist. When someone cancels, you will automatically be moved into the class and notified via email. Waitlist stops 12 hours before the class. Your credit card is only charged when you get moved into the class.


CANCELLATION POLICY:

~ You receive an email reminder 24 hours before every class for which you signed up. Near the bottom of the email is a link to cancel.
~ Classes cancelled online > 12 hours before start time receive a full refund to your credit card.
~ If you create a username and password you can go onto your Offering Tree account anytime to easily cancel.
